With a penchant for playing the detective, and being a bit of a busybody besides, Dani McKenzie is a keen observer of everyday rituals and the strange intimacy of city life. Based on personal street photographs and more recently, AI generated simulations, her paintings offer a romanticised exploration of place and the strangers who inhabit it.
Dani McKenzie is an Australian born artist, who is currently based in Naarm/Melbourne. Since graduating from the MFA program at the National Art School in Sydney (2016), she has held solo exhibitions in Paris, Los Angeles, Sydney and Melbourne.
