Lives and works in Barnet, North London, UK

Benjamin levy lives and works in North London and is recognized as one of the few noteworthy figurative artists today from working-class backgrounds. He produces evocative paintings that sensitively explore themes of working-class life, status anxiety and the sacrifices made in the pursuit of social mobility. After completing an Art Foundation course at Barnet college, Levy briefly studied illustration at Middlesex University but dropped out as “life became a bit more serious” at that time, Levy reflected. With bills to pay, he spent most of his twenties working as a gas engineer, carpet fitter, loft converter, harbourer on building sites and manning the tills at Sainsbury's, all while maintaining a constant dedication to painting. In 2012, Levy decided to commit to his art practice full-time.

Levy's recent solo exhibition was 'Keeping up with the Corbies', at LBF Contemporary, London (2025).
